Hello,
Nationals are coming soon, and I’m sure that all of us are feeling very stressed over this. I know how it feels.
Look how badly I’m shooting. I’m the one shooting badly in my team, and I’m worried about letting the whole team down, because I know that Keinin, Jiayi, and Amanda have all worked hard for this.
I don’t know if I will be able to shoot well on that day, and if I don’t ( touch wood), I’ll probably cry.
The pressure is not only on us to perform; we also carry the expectations of our peers, our teachers, our school, and our teammates.
Because what no one wants to do is to let everyone else down.
I just want to tell you that no matter what we shoot or how we perform during the nationals—everyone in the Rgshooting club will be behind you.
There is no shame in not shooting terrifically high during the Nationals , because everyone understands that you tried your best.
You’re not alone; because everyone feels scared too, Scared of failing themselves and becoming, what, the reason for the team’s failure. Nonsense.
No one fails Rgshooting during the Nationals, because we’re proud of you.
Thank you for training so hard and putting in your 101% for every single training, and thank you for simply being a part of the team.
What is this whole competition process about? It’s not about winning, and its definitely not about beating others. It’s about, as Coach Li says, 战胜自我. ( Oh my. Chinese typing worked. ) It’s about beating yourself.
Coach Li delivered a very meaningful speech yesterday. I'll try to summarise it.
It’s not about getting first place and thrashing the other schools, but about beating yourself. It’s about being a winner inside You.
As long as you try your best, you will never let the team down.
So on the day of the competition- it’s just a day in the whole process of training.
It’s just a day. Don’t stress. Try your best, and if you do, everyone’s going to be proud of you.
