the previous post was really inspiring. thank you denise(: anyway, I also want to add on something from kung fu panda (and it's also what mr teo said in the bus) we should not care about beating other schools and be too stressed about it. we should not care about the past card we shot (if it's lousy or good), should not care about the future(like what medals we will get), but insead concentrate on the present. (concentrate on shooting that one pellet you're gonna shoot on the card).
the past is history, the future is unknown, but the present, is a gift. (that's why it's called present). so yes, I know other schools are shooting 36 + for pistol, but I'm sure if we beat ourselves in the competitions, we can shoot even better.

Hello,
Nationals are coming soon, and I’m sure that all of us are feeling very stressed over this. I know how it feels.
Look how badly I’m shooting. I’m the one shooting badly in my team, and I’m worried about letting the whole team down, because I know that Keinin, Jiayi, and Amanda have all worked hard for this.
I don’t know if I will be able to shoot well on that day, and if I don’t ( touch wood), I’ll probably cry.
The pressure is not only on us to perform; we also carry the expectations of our peers, our teachers, our school, and our teammates.
Because what no one wants to do is to let everyone else down.
I just want to tell you that no matter what we shoot or how we perform during the nationals—everyone in the Rgshooting club will be behind you.
There is no shame in not shooting terrifically high during the Nationals , because everyone understands that you tried your best.
You’re not alone; because everyone feels scared too, Scared of failing themselves and becoming, what, the reason for the team’s failure. Nonsense.
No one fails Rgshooting during the Nationals, because we’re proud of you.
Thank you for training so hard and putting in your 101% for every single training, and thank you for simply being a part of the team.
What is this whole competition process about? It’s not about winning, and its definitely not about beating others. It’s about, as Coach Li says, 战胜自我. ( Oh my. Chinese typing worked. ) It’s about beating yourself.
Coach Li delivered a very meaningful speech yesterday. I'll try to summarise it.
It’s not about getting first place and thrashing the other schools, but about beating yourself. It’s about being a winner inside You.
As long as you try your best, you will never let the team down.
So on the day of the competition- it’s just a day in the whole process of training.
It’s just a day. Don’t stress. Try your best, and if you do, everyone’s going to be proud of you.

I feel obligated to post since this blog is like quite dead. I know you guys have alot of PTs to do and national interschool's coming up. so what I want to say is that. I'M REALLY PROUD TO BE IN THE RGSHOOTINGTEAM and I REALLY REALLY HOPE WE CAN DO WELL IN THE COMPETITIONS. let's just give this one last shot yeah? GAMBATE!
i know riflers shoot VERY well, like getting 37- 39 something, and I know our pistolers B div (nicole, wanzhen etc.) can shoot VERY well too. so I know you guys can do it!
and to CDIV PISTOLERS, I know we aren't as great as others, but believe in ourselves okay? (anyway, we're sorry for making so much noise in the range!) JIAYOU!
I LOVE RG SHOOTING! and I swear if I were to choose my cca again, I'll choose shooting!(: ahhahahahahahahahahhaa.

Haha so everyone's half-whining about school starting earlier. The new SA schedules are crazy... how many tests in two days! (Sec 3s have at least 3 tests on one day). It's got a bigger impact than ending school earlier on Wednesday and Friday ): Net effect: negative!

Actually, sponsorship should be open to everyone who is willing to provide funds with/without their names appearing on the products. Therefore, we should not be cancelling out possible sponsors.
I feel that it is actually not a must to force members to purchase this jacket and as a result, we should bear the costs ourselves if we actually want to have them.
Moreover, sponsorship is not as simple as it seems. Firstly, we must actually decide on our products, the design/outlook, our budget, etc. and present them to the sponsor for consideration. Assuming that each piece costs $25, and there's 10 shooters per level and there're 4 levels, that's $1000 in total. Although this sum cannot be said to be small, it is not that big either. It is not that difficult if a sponsor does not mind to fork up this sum.
However, the most important point of this is whether there is a need to find a sponsor. As this is not a jacket that will be worn on a very large scale (large scale meaning e.g. ORA), the sponsor might not find this worthy to sponsor.
In my opinion, what we should do is to - come up with design, materials and quantity desired - get quotation from printing companies
If we are comfortable with the price that has been quoted, then we will go ahead with the printing.
It would be good to have a jacket but it is not a necessity.
Ultimately, we should work hard as a team for the upcoming Nationals first. We should always enjoy each training, working hard all the way, which I believe this is our unanimous goal!

hello guys. it;s early in the morning and i'm feeling lovesick. so I shall proclaim my love for the sec fours ): hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa. wait, i don't even know all the sec fours. like only weixian, li yan, nora, michelle, chaoyu(?), wanzhen, charisse, sufen.
only 8? hmm. i thought it was10. okay anyway, POST DEDICATION TIME. weixian -hahahahahahhahahahaa. she's really nice. li yan- I LOVE HER CARROTS AND DINOSOAR. nora- she didn't want to smell my hand for five bucks ): michelle -hahahahaha her stories on _____ chaoyu - I know i made her laugh during training!(: wanzhen -CUTE VOICE! <3 charisse -im her fav junior number 2! sufen -I know she's really really really really smart. and her brain can occupy the whole universe.

Well my babies, the verdict is out. The teacher ics advise against creating a shooting jacket this year, as we already have a club t-shirt.
Thank you, everyone, for bonding together in our bid to create a cool jacket ! We did try out best to convince the teachers. Yes, remember my laughable speech in Chinese to Mr Teo. And Siyun prepared the email addresses and contact details. Ah well. We even discussed materials on our tagboard.
I know that this is rather sad, because we’re only advised to create a jacket next year. By then, the sec 4s will be gone. BUT NO FEAR ! SUPERMAN IS HERE ! okay okay . We can send the jackets to them in RJC. Weixian said that . So no one who was involved in the original plan will be left out. And we have FRESH BLOOD ! New Sec ones coming in next year can get cool looking jackets too ! Oh great.I sound like a Orc.
So. Where do we go from here?
It’s not over yet. Mr Teo advises us to find sponsors in our creation of the jackets to make them cheaper. That’s one thing we can do. FIND SPONSORS. ( * Jiayi’s mother is not an option, Gina.) Let’s try and find the coolest sponsors we can. I do not want to walk around wearing a jacket that has COLD STORAGE or THE FRESH FOOD PEOPLE printed on it in terrifyingly big letters.
Let’s search for sponsors. Step one !
And Mrs Tay said that the club t-shirt, which was created in February, took an insanely long time to be approved , printed, verified, etc etc. It’s only coming out in July or June. If we start designing early, we might be able to get it verified in the early half-year of 2009.
Oh, and Weixian has revived the old yahoogroups. She said that she will be polling for responses to this jacket-creation matter soon. Join the yahoogroups please. Make life easier !
Why do I ONLY SEE THREE MEMBERS IN RGSC YAHOOGROUPS ? WHY. Anwer me. WHY? WHY? MY BABIES !

Dear Mrs Tay, Mr Teo, and Mr Cheong,
I am Denise Lim and I am writing this email on behalf of the shooting sec 2s, in order to ask about the guidelines regarding the proposing of school approved jackets.
We are deeply apologetic for not asking you about the creation of the jackets earlier, and thus would like to apologize for your trouble.
Firstly, we would like to request for the proposal form for the printing of the jacket. We would also like know the guidelines on the creation of school-approved jackets- must there be a specific color combination/ specific number of colours and pictures on the jacket?
One final query is - If our jacket is not approved, will we still be allowed to create it if we remove the " raffles" from the jacket and bear full cost of the printing?
Our batch would like to take this opportunity to bond by designing and planning the creation of the jacket together, with help from other members of the shooting club.
As such, we will try our best to organize this designing well within the time limit, as the sec fours who we have asked would like a jacket as well.
On behalf of the sec 2 shooters, I would like to thank you again for taking the time to answer our queries.

As you can see, this is the email I sent to the teacher/ics. They have not replied yet, so we're still not very certain of anything yet. They might probably take some time to reply as it is the school holidays and they might be busy .
However, what we DO know is that we have decided to create a shooting jacket for RGSHOOTING.
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION= The creation of a shooting jacket might be approved as we are a sports CCA, however; we might not get the chance to design it and put pictures on it as it might turn out as a "sports cca" jacket- the kind you see the gymnasts and table tennis people wearing.
What we do need to decide is, in the case of the school only allowing us to create their sport cca jacket with only the cca name behind- do we still want to carry on and create this "sports cca "jacket? Or do we want to create and design one with pictures, slogans, etc, but not school approved?
Which kind would you prefer?
Again, I'll tell you when the teacher/ics get back to me. Before I sent this email, I asked Liyan to ask Mrs Tay regarding this matter . And according to Mrs Tay/Liyan, we'll have to propose the jacket to her first, and following that, she will propose it to the head honcho ( AKA Ms GohLK ).

Hi all my darling batchmates ( and other RGSHOOTERS reading this ) ,
As you all know, our batch of sec 2s have proposed the creation of a shooting club jacket .
I have emailed Mrs Tay, Mr Teo, and Mr Cheong regarding the creation of the shooting club jacket and have also asked them for the proposal forms and guidelines.
They might take some time to reply, so I suggest we get started with the organizing of this whole thing. We SHALL STOP talking talking AND talking and start getting to work.
There’s little point in designing the jacket now, as there are many questions we have to clarify (like what if the jacket can only be green or something ), and also whether we can put pictures.
So, WE SHALL STARTED WITH THE LOGISTICS AND ORGANIZING. We need to
1) Settle the guidelines and costs, etc 2) Notify other rgshooters of our plan to create jacket and invite them to submit designs 2) Organize the collation of all the different designs 3) Finalize design 4) Bring design to printing shop and collect jackets.
We need to finish this all within a given time period, as I think that the sec 4s probably want a jacket too.
We are serious about this, yes? GO RGSHOOTING ! ( okay that was really random ).
I will tell you when the teachers have emailed me back so that we can notify the other sec 1, 3, and 4 shooters and ask for possible designs- We SHALL NOT take the risk and ask for designs first without consulting the teachers.
In the case of it being too late for us to submit designs for the jacket, our proposed PLAN B is to go ahead and create the jacket, but remove the “Raffles” from it first.
Please post this on your blog so that more RGSHOOTERS know about this. We do not want someone having no idea what is going on and what is this jacket thing and what is happening.
Bottom line is- This is a team effort, we need to get started, and please submit designs to our batch sec 2s.
